Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on these file formats?

Because I couldnt get the MDI file to open from a URL I changed the
extension to TIF and then the url would work, open and close the file,
mark up etc no problem.

The original MDI file is about 9k but when saved as TIF it is 240k.
When I rename the MDI to TIF, open, modify and save as TIF the size is
still 11k. Any insights ?

I would like to use Microsoft Document Imaging in a small office, (all
users are on XP) as the main technology to manage documents, I like the
ability to make annotations and search docs- is this software going
places or am i safer sticking with adobe PDF?

Thanks,
Kerry

Hi Kerry/Kacy,

The MS Office Document Imaging (MDI) file format
is a TIFF derivative. It is only supported in
Office 2003 at present.

The information here may be helpful:
