Which passwords do you refer to?
Windows user, Mail Account password, data file password???
You only need to copy the outlook data files, the *.pst files, with outlook
closed to external media, and from there to Documents folder on your new PC
You need to search, to include hidden files for *.pst
I have tried everything to recover the password - my 3 login and current
passowrds, my old login and old passwords, cannnot get in. Im trying to
export to a file (flash drive and external hard drive) to transfer
informaiton to my new laptop.
Yet for some unknown reason, I've been able to export some information but
it's outdated (my calendar and contacts are for daily business needs).
when
I try to open the files to transfer to new laptop the error is "incorrect
file path, reenter file path (registry ??). OH - hmmm, new laptop has
Windows 7, is that the issue ? why did it copy older entries but not
updated
?

Firstly, if you'd done any research, you would have discovered that export
and import are NOT the way to transfer data from one Outlook to another.
Secondly, google "pst password recovery". You will find many hits for
freeware that will crack the password for you.

When you've cracked the password, read here for the correct way to transfer
Outlook data.
How to backup and restore Outlook

http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/backupandrestore.htm
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010771141033.aspx

There is out-dated information on some of these pages, specifically with
regard to Outlook 2003 and 2007.

The main points to note:
1. Do NOT use the import/export function to move Outlook data from one
version to another - all you need to do is to copy the pst file, with
Outlook closed.

2. Do NOT paste the copied pst file into the default location - paste into
(for example) your Documents folder and then do File-Open-Outlook Data File
within Outlook.

1. Right click on the .pst file name in your folder list.
2. Choose Properties (Data Files Properties in Outlook 2010/2013), then Advanced button.
3. Click Change Password button.
4. Type your password in the Old password field.
5. Leave the New password and Verify fields blank.
6. Click Ok and work your way back to Outlook.

This dialog is also accessible from File, Account Settings, Data File tab. Select the pst

file and click Settings.

On the Tools menu, click Options, click the Mail Setup tab, and then click E-mail Accounts.
In the Account Settings window, click the Data Files tab.

If the Name field contains the word "Mailbox" followed by an e-mail name, Outlook stores data in folders on the Exchange Server. Contact the Exchange Server administrator for more information about how backups are handled.

If the field contains the words "Personal Folder" or the name of a set of personal folders or .pst files, Outlook stores new messages, contacts, appointments, and other data in a .pst file on your hard disk. To back up the data, go to the "How to make a backup copy of a .pst file" section.
Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Mail Setup tab, click the Data Files button.
Note the path and file name of your .pst file. For example, C:\Exchange\Mailbox.pst indicates a .pst file that is named Mailbox.pst located in the Exchange folder on your drive C.
Click Close, click OK, and then click Exit and Log Off on the File menu to quit Outlook
