Change default style in word 2007

How to change the default style for all future documents in Word 2007.
I would like to change it to something like Title or NoSpace. I am NOT
ASKING how to modify the default style. I am asking to make another
style the DEFAULT.

Right click on a font
Choose Modify
Click on New documents based on this template DOES NOT WORK.

I've migrated everything here to Office 2010 quite a while ago but have
you tried changing normal.dot?
Copy normal.dot to original_normal.dot (so that you don't lose the old
default)
Open normal.dot in Word - change the settings - save as normal.dot
(not .doc)
See how that goes. - To restore the original default style just copy
normal.dot to new_normal.dot and rename original_normal.dot to normal.dot
