now that i've actually reread *your* post and not the MVP's mistaken one....
sorry about that, *you* obviously knew all that already. I don't know the
answer about the uploading. i'd just make sure you're meeting all the
requirements there about info provided and upload limit.
in any case, the info above ought to be helpful for JoAnn Paules and others.
Post by unknownThere was a top level requirement on
http://microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/terms.aspx
that you did not mention that could be rather important as far as qualifying :)
"All eligible university students are entitled to make a purchase from the promotion site as described further below."
For what Microsoft is considering a 'university' in this context might require a phone call or two <g>.
Also worth noting is that there are are also special prices on
Windows Vista Ultimate upgrades in the same qualification link.
Interesting that up to four licenses for each product can be purchased if one meets the qualifications. Hmmm, that barbecuing class
is 0.5 credits. ;)

good news for you
while the ultimate steal eligibility emhasizes 2 conditions
1. that you have an email address ending in .edu
2. OR that you have an email address at a school that is on their list
after hovering over the "Am I Eligible" subhead, you get the first 2
conditions, but if you click on the link for the "Full Terms and Conditions
you will discover that there is third way to qualify
3.
""" OR
Submission of school enrollment: Submit verifiable school enrollment via the
validation process[LINK provided there]; AND
2. Individual must be a student at a U.S. educational institution and must
be actively enrolled in at least 0.5 course credit and be able to provide
proof of enrollment upon request. """
it's too much of great deal to not read ALL the fine print.
good luck
btw, you can start your own search for this stuff on the ultimate2007 home

Post by JoAnn PaulesI did read that and since the OP never stated whether her school was
eligible, etc, I felt it was better that she read the terms herself and if
she had further questions, she could follow up with them where appropriate.

okay, but what i read in your answer is "If you don't have an edu address,
you have to be a student at one of the schools listed on ...""
that's not true, though ms doesn't get to that until step 2 or 3. that's my
point. you don't have to attend a school on their list. you can upload
proof, which is what she was having trouble with (i eventually realized).

Post by ohnonotnow!.....
yes i suppose that's true, but at least one of the schools on their
prequalified list is a 2 year community college, so they are not exactly
strictly using the university definition i'd say. in any case, the uploading
of the information that the program requires will get the applicant the
answer one way or the other.
and i did notice the liberal 0.5 credit requirement. so bob, that along
with cc's being in play, looks like indian summer bbq class for you! what a
deal -- 10 office 2007 programs for $60 and sauce, too.

Post by KoolpamomI purchased the ultimate steal and it is telling that I am past 30 days to
download it but I do not have it on any other computer and I just bought a
new one and I want to put it on this computer.
Post by Earle HortonYou should have made a backup of the download file or of the expanded
installation directory. Failing that, you should have paid for extended
download or the installation DVD...
Earle
Post by JoAnn PaulesThe disk is only $13. Seems like a mighty small amount to pay for a little
security.
