even when I go into trust center and make sure that this feature is
enabled. The excel file in question does have a macro that normally is
blocked on other machines here with the message bar prompting about the
blocked content. Can any help please?

Hi Jim and thanks for the reply. I don't think that is the problem, let
me explain why. excel 2007 is blocking the functionality of the macro,
but not prompting with the message bar to enable content.

If it is in a trusted location (it's on the hdd now), how would I find out?

Go to the Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Macro Settings - "Disable all macros with
notification" should be check marked.

Re: "If it is in a trusted location (it's on the hdd now), how would I find out?"
Same route as above except "Trusted Locations" instead of "Macro Settings"

Re: "If it is in a trusted location (it's on the hdd now), how would I find out?"
Same route as above except "Trusted Locations" instead of "Macro Settings"
"Disable all macros with notification" is checked, and so is "Show the
message bar in all applications when content has been blocked", but it
is not prompting with the message bar.

I added the location of the document to trusted locations.

So now the form is working (thanks for that), but it does not seem the
macro security in excel is working properly, specifically the message
bar. What do you recommend next?

Thanks again for your ongoing help.

If the file is in a trusted location then no warning message is displayed.
Files should be scanned by the computer operator (you) before moving them to a trusted
location.
I am not certain what your other concern(s) is.
In any case, I would make sure to do a complete virus scan. I usually start one of those
just before going to lunch.

Virus scan came up clean.

Did you try clicking "Options..." on the message bar? This displays a
dialog where you can enable macros.

Hi GS. My problem is that even though I have trust center message bar
settings set as "Show the message bar in all applications when content
has been blocked", it is inconsistently blocking content and never
displaying the message bar. I also have trust center macro settings set
as "disable all macros with notification", so I'm very confused as to
why it is not working properly.

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry about double post, I meant to post to both groups first time.
