I purchased a new laptop with an OEM version of Vista Home Premium (64-bit)
preinstalled. When loading Acrobat 8.0 Standard an error message appears
stating, "The file 'AdobePDF.dll' on Windows Vista CD-Rom is needed. Type
the path where the file is located and click OK.'" I have no Vista CD-Rom
because Vista was preloaded on the laptop. How should I proceed to
successfully install Acrobat 8.0 Standard in this situation? I checked FAQs
on Microsoft and Adobe, but none address this issue.

I'd check back with Adobe to see if Acrobat 8 is supported on 64-bit Vista.

You should start your own thread, so your details are given, and those
that frequent these news groups wil see your new post. But in case your
problem is truly the same:

Of course, the Windows Vista CD-Rom wouldn't have the file if you had a
Vista CD-ROM, but that's the default location where Vista expects to
find needed files. You have to redirect it to the CD that includes the
file, or to the folder where you downloaded Acrobat 8. Better yet,
delete the install, then download a new copy of Acrobat 9.3. I believe
that's the latest version..
